Hello folks and a very warm good morning to you all!
As I sat down to write today’s blog, I chanced upon a message sent by a friend. I read it and I found that I could actually relate to it. So I thought I would share it here with you guys. I have no clue as to the writer of the message otherwise I would definitely give him due credit for it – but I am reproducing it below because I am sure you all will be able to relate to it just as I was able to. I am sure the original creator of the message meant to spread this very feeling while writing it and I am positive that he will not mind me reproducing this below with due credit to him
We celebrate so many days – Mother’s day, Father’s day, Friendship day, etc., but we don’t have a day dedicated to ourselves. An “I-love-me day* – Yes folks, that is what we deserve and that is what we should have for ourselves. We do everything all the time for others, but do we actually stop and think about our own selves or about our own happiness?
If a friend confesses to you that he/she slipped up, we would cheer him/her up. But if we slip up, we tend to be harsh on ourselves, we are overly critical of ourselves. We need to learn to be kind to ourselves. To do this, we need to remind ourselves of the good things we have done (success at work, looked after a parent, brought up children) or our positive qualities (have a great sense of humour, optimism, positivity, generosity)
Being kind to yourself and resolving, gently, that you will do better in future is better than beating yourself up. We are human, we make mistakes… That’s life.
So be good to yourself! We owe ourselves at least that much.
On I-love-me day write one, ten, or even a hundred things you like about yourself.
Make it a special day for yourself; buy yourself a gift, treat yourself to a special meal. Do something that makes you feel good.
Also make a list of all that you are grateful for – a roof over your head, friends, family, etc. Most of us have much to be thankful for. We need to appreciate our blessings and thank god for all he has given us.
Most important, go over the lists often, reflect on what you have written and pat yourself on the back for whoever you are.
You deserve it.
You are special and don’t ever forget it
*Good Morning*
*Have a great day & Stay Blessed”
