So I have a question for you, rather a puzzle for you to guess the right answer. What is that thing in the world which is free, limitless, in your control and can mend or bend hearts? Well I am sure you have already seen the title of the blog so no prizes for guessing that the correct answer is “Words”
Yes my dear friends, words are something which we have an unlimited stock of. They will never end and nor do they cost us any money. It is the ability to communicate which we have been bestowed upon by Mother Nature. What you utter what you say or don’t say, it is completely in your own control. If you decide and stick to your decision, nothing in this world can make you say anything that you don’t want to.
All that apart, the most outstanding quality or characteristic feature of words is that words are like a double-edged sword. They have unspoken and limitless power within them. They can bring down kingdoms and they can create empires. They can heal broken hearts and they can break hearts. They can soothe feelings and they can sow hatred. They can kill people (yes friends, killing with words is a novel art) and they can infuse life in statues.
The miracles that words can bring about are untold and unexplainable to the fullest. The power of words is something to be experienced personally. We all have this gift in plenty and we all use them for getting our way through our daily lives. If we did not have this ability to communicate using words, perhaps we would be akin to the mute animals whom we boss over due to our superior intelligence and our ability to communicate.
But have we realized the true value of words? Do we use them the way they were intended to be used by the one who gave us that ability? I believe that God wanted peace and happiness and loads of love on this planet earth when he created it and also when he created mankind. Adam & Eve’s story also started with love. So love is what we need to spread around and use it to bring peace & happiness.
To do so, we have the power of words, to convey the message effectively to all. But alas, what we do is exactly the opposite. Cruel words, angry words, indecent words, sharp words, abusive words, negative words and all other such negative variants of words are used and expressed by mankind and that is why I said earlier that words can kill people. Yes sir, people die of painful words because these words kill you within, they crush your spirit of life and although you may be physically alive, inside you are dead.
These very words, if used in a nice manner, spoken sincerely from the heart, to express true feelings, can actually win the biggest of wars and the mightiest of hearts. History has been replete with numerous such instances when words have made the difference between life and death, between happiness and sorrow, between delight and pain. A few gentle words can bring the most deadliest of enemies together and can bind people in bonds of eternal love.
When things are not going your way and all seems to be lost, use the power of words and find your way back to the shore.
As one of my favorite boy bands Boyzone covered the song, “Its only words and words are all I have, to take your heart away”
If you want to win hearts then all you have to do is speak soft sweet words and the rest is taken care of.
